It is Jesus in fact that you seek when you dream of happiness; he is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you; he is the beauty to which you are so attracted; it is he who provokes you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise; [...]

It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives, the will to follow an ideal, the refusal to allow yourselves to be grounded down by mediocrity, the courage to commit yourselves humbly and patiently to improving yourselves and society, making the world more human and more fraternal.

John Paul II, Speech Year 2000

Why?

It is our conviction that the greatest gift in this world is to know God, to experience his love and to lead an absolutely adventurous life with Him. For He alone is worth it all. EVERYONE should get this gift e.g. at a prayerfestival so that God can enter each One's life.

Noone should be refused this life-changing encounter with God, especially not for financial reasons which unfortunately becomes an ever growing obstacle.

So we decided to not a charge a fixed price so that everyone who wants to attend the prayerfestival actually can attend it, without any exceptions. Instead we only rely on donations.

However, expecting more than 2500 people, we do have enormous costs to bear (tents, meals). So we will be asking everyone to give a donation according to their possibilities during the prayerfestival.

Apart from normal attendees we trust that God will send generous people who support our service through their financial means and thereby help build up the kingdom of God.

Who is it for?

Youth 2000 events are primarily for 16-35 year olds. If you are in this age range and looking for answers to the big questions in life, then this retreat is for you!

Families:

You are coming as a family? Great, the next generation is on the move!

We kindly ask you to consider that the program is not 100% adjusted your necessities. At certain times, there will be special activities for children and tweens. Also, the mass will be broadcast live in sound and vision for parents with toddlers.

We kindly ask you to avoid bringing toys into the main tent which can cause noise.

The family blessing will take place on Saturday afternoon for the families in order to make sure that they can go to bed in time on Saturday evening.

Over 35s / Under 18s

Over 35s can only participate as helpers or as a guardian for a minor!

If these criteria do not apply to you, you are welcome to participate in the services. You can also follow the IPF through Radio Horeb.

All under 16-year-olds must be accompanied by a guardian of legal age who is responsible for them at all time. They and also the under 18-year-olds need a parental consent form.

Accommodation:

The IPF is a festival, and at a festival, you sleep in tents! There will be big sleeping tents for up to 200 people. They are meant for those who haven’t got their own tents. So if you own a tent or if you can borrow one, take it with you or share one with your friends!

Only priests and speakers can be accommodated in the house. Whoever doesn’t want to or can’t sleep in a tent can search for an accommodation on their own. For this, we have listed up an overview of possible accommodations below.

Food:

The stay at the IPF, includes breakfast, dinner and supper every day. At lunch, there is also a vegetarian alternative available. Unfortunately, we can’t consider any food intolerance.

At breakfast, you can get warm drinks. Apart from that, you can always get drinkable water from our water station. For this, you should bring a drinking bottle.

We also sell drinks during the meal times. In between meals, you can get snacks and drinks at the bar in the Chill Out tent.

Costs:

We run on a donation-only policy. You can read more about that here: Spenden (Donations).

As a guide price, you can assume 20 € per day and person.
